Episode 7 Game 2

Nikolai: I think I will roll one more time.

(Nikolai rolls)

Doug: Ohhhh -- a 7 came up and ate up the CY$1400. Sorry about that.

Score remains 5100 to nothing in Kourtney's favor. Round 4 start with this.

Cindy Crawford, Rachel Hunter or Kathy Ireland. Who played the title character in the video to Fountains of Wayne's song "Stacy's Mom"?

(Nikolai buzzes in)

Doug: Nikolai.

Nikolai: Rachel Hunter.

Doug: That's right. (audience applause) Another chance to get on the scoreboard starts now, Nikolai. Free roll for you.

(Nikolai rolls)

Doug: And you start with a 9 for CY$900. Gotta ask -- bank or roll?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Nikolai: I should really give it a roll.

(Nikolai rolls)

Doug: And a close call -- but it's a 6 for another CY$600. Bank 1500 or keep on rolling?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Nikolai: I think I'll roll once more.

Doug: The ol' "once more" bit.

(Nikolai rolls)

(audience cheers)

Doug: Woah! Big roll! An 11 brings the pot up to CY$2600. Was that really "once more" -- or are you thinking about getting a double that could either double the pot or add as much as CY$3000 to said pot?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Nikolai: With the way I've been going, I think I'll bank what I have to narrow the gap a bit.

(mix of applause and groans from the crowd)

Doug: Don't let the mob intimidate you, Nikolai. It's your moolah -- not theirs.

(ding)

Doug: Kourtney leads -- but now it's by CY$2500. Getting close to finding a winner. Here's Round 5 with this question.

Hockey, boxing or horse racing. Which sport follows the Queensbury rules?

(Nikolai buzzes in)

Doug: Nikolai.

Nikolai: Boxing.

Doug: That's the sport. (audience applause) Now let's see if you can make this an even game with these rolls of the dice, Nikolai. Free roll, first.

(Nikolai rolls)

Doug: And you start with CY$600. Want to bank or risk?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Nikolai: I think I need a little more than that. Let's roll it again.

(Nikolai rolls)

Doug: And a 5 brings the pot up to CY$1100. We haven't had a double come up in a while. If you're feeling the dice will stay hot, roll again. If not, now's the time to bank.

(audience shouts suggestions)

Nikolai: Let's give it another go. I need doubles now.

(Nikolai rolls)

Doug: Well -- no doubles. But a 6 augments the pot to CY$1700. Bank now and we'll have a close game going into Round 6. Roll again and you *could* take the lead. A 7 or a bust on the double decision board wipes out the gains for the round.

What do you do?

(audience shouts suggestions)

Nikolai: I'd rather have a close game, so I'll play it safe and bank.

(audience cheers)

Doug: They seem to like a close game, too. Another 1700 in your coffers.

(ding)

Doug: Well, here we are -- Round 6. Unless Nikolai banks exactly CY$800 in this round, we go to a catch-up round. Here's the question for Round 6.

His first name is Zane and his best selling novel is "Riders of the Purple Sage". Is this late author's last name spelled with "a" or an "e"?

(Nikolai rolls)

Doug: Nikolai.

Nikolai: An "e".

Doug: That's right. (audience applause) Zane Grey's last name is spelled G-R-E-Y. Nikolai, dice are hot again for you.

(Nikolai rolls)

Doug: And it's a 5 for CY$500. Nikolai, if you bank now, you'll start the catch-up round. You may roll again and try to go into the lead.

(audience shouts suggestions)

Nikolai: It give it one more roll.

(Nikolai rolls)

Doug: And there's an 8 for CY$1300. Bank now and you'll lead by CY$500 going into the catch-up round -- meaning Kourtney rolls first.

But you may roll again and *try* to add to the pot.

(audience shouts suggestions)

Nikolai: I may as well give myself a lead and bank.

Doug: Very well, banking CY$1300.
