Doug: We'll, we're about to test how lucky you really feel. Double 4 means we could add CY$800 to the pot...

Doug: ...or take whatever's in the double 4 screen on the board.
If there's cyber-money, we add that much to the pot instead of CY$800. If there's a surprise, we follow the directions. If there's a bust, round ends and no score.
What say ye?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Nikolai: I've got to see what's behind the double fours. Let's go to the board.
Doug: Going to the double decision board. All right, instead of adding CY$800, what happens?

(ding) (a few clap; others groan)
Doug: Yeah, no need to get excited. Instead of us *adding* 800 to the pot, the pot is *augmented* to 800 thanks to "double pot".
Oh well -- let's shuffle.

Doug: OK, Nikolai, a slight tactical error -- but at least you didn't bust on that trip to the board. Bank the 800 or roll again?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Nikolai: For some reason I'm still feeling lucky. Let's roll 'em.

Doug: That's a lucky roll, all right. An 11 for CY$1100 more. Still feeling lucky or is now the time to bank?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Nikolai: Considering the way things have been going this turn, I'll play it safe and bank.
Doug: Banking another CY$1900.

Doug: All right, Round 6. Nikolai has 6400, Michael still at 2100. Remember, the catch-up round comes right after this round -- unless Michael banks exactly CY$4300 in this round. With CY$3000 up there on the double decision board, anything's possible. Next question
Will a 9 iron or a 4 iron send a golf ball farther?
Doug: Nikolai.
Nikolai: 4 iron.
Doug: That's right. (audience applause) Nikolai, before you take your free roll, a note that we will be playing a catch-up round. No matter how much distance you put yourself between you and Michael, there will always be at least one way Michael can catch up to you.
So with that in mind, please take your free roll.

Doug: Wow -- and a double 5 to start. As you know, no double decision to make on the free roll. We just seeded a new pot with CY$1000.
Bank the 1000 or roll again?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Nikolai: I need to widen the gap just a little more. Let's roll 'em again.

Doug: And it's an 8 for CY$1800 total. Care to roll again?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Nikolai: I do need to play it safe sometime, so I guess this will be that time. I'll bank.
Doug: Another big addition to your bank to.

Doug: CY$8200 for Nikolai. Michael still at CY$2100. But anything can happen in the catch-up round.
In the catch-up round, we don't build a pot of cyber-money. Michael gets one roll of the dice since he's trailing. If necessary, Nikolai will roll.
As long as no one rolls a 7, the player immediately banks the value of the roll. Obviously, the possible CY$1200 will not help Michael at all. So...

Doug: ...we shuffle in helpful spaces on the double decision board -- one of which will tie the leader, at least one other will give a player thousands of cyber-dollars and an extra roll. Unfortunately, some not-so-helpful spaces are up there.
Michael, simply put, you need a double. Let's see if you can roll a double.

Doug: A 9 -- bumps your bank up to CY$3000 -- but gives the game to Nikolai.

Doug: Nikolai, congratulations on winning the game with CY$8200. In just a moment, you'll have a chance to win CY$50,000 or possibly more in the Bonus Bonanza.
Michael, fret not, this is just your first loss. You're not out until you lose two games.
When we come back, Nikolai takes the dice in hand -- for a shot at taking us for 50-grand. Hot Dice is back in a bit.
