Audience Game

(fade to crowd)

Scarlett: Kourtney Wilson, come on up. (audience cheers) It's your chance to win big on Hot Dice.

(Kourtney runs up to stage; shakes hands with Doug at dice table)

Doug: Kourtney, great to see you. Tell the folks about yourself, please.

Kourtney: My name is Kourtney Wilson and I am a sales agent at a company. I'm from Valdosta, Georgia and 27 years old. I'm a recent grad trying to find where to work at to pay the bills.

Doug: Well, maybe we can help you pay some bills in a game we call Half and Half.

On the board, we've randomly hidden two halves of a CY$10,000 bill. The first half of the bill is hiding behind one of the odd numbers -- 1, 3 or 5. The last half of the bill is hiding behind one of the even numbers -- 2, 4 or 6.

Keep in mind the random assignments may or may not have positioned the bills side-by-side. In other words, if you found the first half behind the number 1, it's not a guarantee you'll find the last half behind 2.

Doug: You'll have five chances to uncover both halves of the bill. You do that by rolling this dice cube a maximum of five times. When you roll a number, we reveal what that number is hiding -- half a bill or the word "no". Find both halves in five rolls or less -- and you win CY$10,000. If you roll a number that was rolled earlier, unfortunately, that counts as a wasted roll.

One more thing. For this game, should you reveal both halves of the bill in two rolls, we'll double the payoff for CY$20,000.

(audience cheers)

Doug: So good luck and find those halves of the bill.

Kourtney: Alrighty then.

(Kourtney rolls)

Doug: And he starts with a 1. Does the first half of the bill hide behind 1?

(buzz) (audience groans)

Doug: And with that, 20-grand's already out of reach. Ten-grand still very possible. Roll again, please.

(Kourtney rolls)

Doug: And we get a 3. Is 3 hiding the first half of the CY$10,000 bill?

(ding) (audience applause)

Doug: Very good. Now, Kourtney, you have to roll the even number that hides the last half of the bill.

(Kourtney rolls)

Doug: Number 4. Did we put the halves of the bill side-by-side?

(buzz) (audience groans)

Doug: Negative. Well, it's either behind 2 or 6. Next roll, please.

(Kourtney rolls)

Doug: And it's a 2. Can we give Kourtney ten large?

(buzz) (audience groans)

Doug: Not yet. Bummer. Well, Kourtney, the graffiti's on the wall. If you roll a 6, you win CY$10,000. If not, we give you CY$250 for each "no" that turned over.

So, you're already CY$750 to the good. Let's see if we can augment it to CY$10,000.

Good luck -- and roll.

(Kourtney rolls)

(dings; audience cheers)

Doug: SIX! You did it!

Doug: Kourtney, CY$10,000 for you -- and our thanks for playing. Friends, that'll do it for Hot Dice. 'Til next time, make it a great day, keep the faith and treasure your loved ones.
