Doug: Hey now. Maybe this is the comeback you're looking for. Shawn, you've rolled a double 3 -- meaning you have a decision to make.
The decision is this: We could add CY$600 to the pot -- or you may take whatever is behind the double 3 on the double decision board.

Doug: If there's cyber-money behind the double 3, we'll add that much to the pot instead of CY$600. If there's a surprise, we'll follow its directions. If there's a bust, you go into the catch-up round on the short end of a 3400 to nothing score.
(audience shouts suggestions)
Shawn: Looking at the score, I have to go for it. Let's look at the double decision board.
Doug: If I were in your shoes, I would've done the same thing. Instead of adding CY$600 to the pot, what do we add -- if anything?

Doug: CY$3000! Woah boy.

Doug: Now Shawn, this puts us at an interesting situation. We have CY$3400 in the pot, Eddie has CY$3400 in his bank.
If you banked the CY$3400 from the pot right now, have a tie after six rounds. Rules say if the scores are tied after six rounds, we play a tie-breaker question in lieu of a catch-up round.
You could roll again if you like. But if you do roll again, we *are* assured of a catch-up round whether or not you roll that dreaded 7.
(audience shouts suggestions)
Doug: While you think about it, we have to shuffle the board just in case you roll again and come up with a double.

Doug: All right, now we're ready for your decision. Bank the 3400 and force a tie-breaker question -- or roll again and *try* for the lead?
Shawn: I think I will take the 3400 and take my chances with the final question.
Doug: Tie-breaker it is. CY$3400 in your bank.

Doug: I will note had Shawn rolled again and the dice totaled 7, he would've started the catch-up round and would've had to roll a double just to have a chance to stay in business.
However, six rounds are in the books and we're tied at 3400. Eddie, Shawn, here's how the tie-breaker works. We play this as if it were a regular toss-up question.
If you buzz in and pick the right answer, you win the game plus bank an extra CY$50 to signify the win. If you buzz in and give me a wrong answer, the victory and the 50 bucks go to your opponent.
Best of luck. Play carefully. Here's the tie-breaker question...
Did DuPont introduce Teflon in the 1950s, 1960s or 1970s?
Doug: Shawn.
Shawn: Was it 1950s?
Doug: That's right!

Doug: Wow -- what a first game of Hot Dice. A big hand for both of you. (more cheers) Eddie, unfortunately, this is your first loss -- but you do keep the CY$3400. Shawn, you bank the extra 50 for the win for a total of CY$3450.
When we come back, Shawn Wells will go for CY$50,000 in the Bonus Bonanza -- right here on Hot Dice.
