Audience Game And it's time to seek another audience game player. Unless if you've played one of the main games or the first audience game of this debut episode of Hot Dice, you're eligible to play.
For the second audience game of this and future episodes of Hot Dice, we bring back The Jackpot Game -- meaning we change the pace and play the cards instead of the dice.
A deck of 52 cards has been shuffled and awaits your cut -- but, your cut has to be close enough to our secret number.
We've randomly chosen that secret number from 0 to 51 inclusive. To qualify for this audience game, just e-mail me a number from 0 to 51. The player closest to our lucky number wins CY$250 and has a chance to turn it into tens of thousands. Oh yeah, based on your number, we'll cut the deck that many cards deep.
(time passes)
Okie doke, what was our lucky number?

Doug: It's 43. Who's the closest?
Andy Silikovitz 43Andy's right on the nose. He's playing for the jackpot.
====================================================================== Charlie Sheen: You're watching VBS -- where you could do a lot of -- you know -- WINNING! ======================================================================Doug: And we're back -- and it's time to bring back The Jackpot Game. During the break, we selected Andy Silikovitz to play it. Andy, up until now, we've been rolling dice for cash and prizes -- but now, a game of cards for a change of pace.
Let's spot you CY$250.

Doug: Now, just before our break ended, we had you cut a deck of 52 playing cards. We then placed the first seven cards from the top of the deck accordingly behind the letters in the word "JACKPOT".
In a moment, we'll show you the card behind the J -- and then you're going to bet whether the next card up the line is higher or lower.
Keep in mind whenever you place a bet, you must bet in increments of CY$25 -- and you must wager at least half your score. A correct prediction or tie cards mean you win your bet. Aces are high, deuces are low.
Bet your way across the board -- until you reach your goal, it's mathematically impossible to reach the goal or you run out of cyber-money. Let's go ahead and set that goal.

Doug: CY$3000. Very attainable goal. And if you do attain that goal, you win everything in tonight's jackpot. Here's Scarlett to tell you what's in the jackpot.
Scarlett: Tonight's jackpot is all about accents. And we start with a destination where you'll likely hear a lot of French accents -- Paris. (audience cheers) You and a companion will fly round trip coach to Paris, France for a six-night stay at a luxury hotel. See the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and all the magnificent sites of a magnificent city -- compliments of Club Universe.
From there, get ready to hear British accents -- on your trip to London, England. (more cheers) You and a companion will fly round trip coach to London for a six-night stay at a luxury hotel. Included in your trip is a special VIP tour of Buckingham Palace -- also compliments of Club Universe.
Your final prize has a trip and just one accent. It's the *road* trip you'll take anytime when you're behind the wheel of this new Hyundai Accent! (audience cheers) The Hyundai Accent features a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, 14" steel wheels and much more.
We'll also throw in CY$20,000 for gas and traveling expenses -- to make this jackpot worth, in cyber-cash and virtual prizes -- CY$54,600.
Doug: Two great trips and a great car. Now, before you even bet, I'm going to give you one chance to quadruple the 250 if you can correctly predict the suit of the card that's behind the J. Do you think it's a Spade, Heart, Club or Diamond?
Andy: Since I'm a baseball fan -- Diamonds.
Doug: All right, if it's Diamonds, you'll start off with CY$1000 and an easier road to CY$3000. Flip it around, please, fellers.

Doug: Well, two things. First, you should've thought of your favorite baseball *club*. (a few laughs and groans from the crowd) And second, you have to bet at least CY$125 that the next card's higher or lower than a snowman.
Andy: 150 higher.
Doug: Going a little higher than the minimum and predicting the next card's higher in rank. Let's see it.

Doug: How ya like that? Diamonds came one card too late -- and you win on a tie card situation. What's your bet here?
Andy: 350 higher.
(scattered cheers and woos)
Doug: Wow, betting nearly all of it higher.

Doug: Sweet! An Ace. So that means -- *of course* you want to bet it all the next card's lower, right?

Doug: Right! Now, what an interesting development. You're at the midpoint of the board, you have CY$1500 and you need another CY$1500 to win the jackpot. What's your call here?
Andy: 1500 higher!
Doug: OK, the simple math tells us this. As long as there's not a 2 behind the P, you hit the jackpot. Let's have a look.

(bells and sirens sound; audience cheers)
Doug: It's a 7! Three grand -- right on the nose.
Now -- before you celebrate, we still have two cards to go. *If* you'd like, you may take your jackpot of more than CY$50,000 plus the CY$3000 you've earned from playing the cards and stop. *Or* you may play at least the next card.
Keep in mind, if you wish to play on and you end up with a score of less than CY$3000, you lose the jackpot.
What's your pleasure?
(audience shouts suggestions)
Andy: I'll stop.
Doug: Yeah, I'd stop here, too. Just for the heck of it, let's see the rest of the board.

Doug: Oh dear. Assuming you played the odds, Andy, you could've gone higher. Then there was a bad beat waiting for you with the last card.
Andy, CY$3000 here -- plus the jackpot of more moolah, the car and two great trips -- all adds up to CY$57,600.
Doug: And we've had a great debut episode. Eddie, one of our main game players has banked more than CY$34,000. Shawn, the other main game player, has banked nearly ten grand. And we had two big winners in the audience games. Man alive. (sighs) We're way over budget already.
Doug: But it's all worth it. We'll see you next time on Hot Dice -- when Eddie and Shawn play a potentially pivotal game. Until then, make it a great day, keep the faith and treasure your loved ones.
